LEATHER
The high quality leathers used by Masimalo are sourced in Scandinavia and vegetable tanned. All of the used tanneries are rated Gold by the Leather Working Group. The Leather Working Group is working internationally to improve traceability and environmental performance in the leather industry.
The leather we use is a by-product of the meat industry, minimizing environmental impact and wastage.

RECYLED WEBBING
Our webbing is made from RPET, which is 100% recycled Polyester. The RPET comes from post-consumer waste (such as old carpets), and industrial waste. The process of recycling uses less natural resources and energy than regular PET. And the end result? A material that is just as good as virgin PET.
Why we use it:
• Lightweight
• Great durability and strength
• Recycled & recyclable
• Lower CO2 emissions than virgin material (Up to 90% less)
SOLID BRASS HARDWARE
All our collars and leashes are fitted with high quality brass hardware for strenght and safety. Brass is made from copper and zinc, and has been used and loved for centuries due to its great workability and characteristics.
Why we use it:
• Wear resistant
• High strength
• Corrosion resistant
• Great base for plating
ENAMELWARE
Our bowls are made from enamelled steel. Enamel is a high quality surface treatment with a long heritage. It makes the bowls extremely durable and long lasting.
Enamelware is fully recyclable and made from abundant materials, which helps to reduce the strain on the environment.

- Free from heavy metals
PACKAGING
Shipping Box
The shipping boxes we use are made in Europe from 100% recycled cardboard. This cardboard is bio-degradable and can easily be recycled again.
Dust bag
All our collars and leashes are shipped in a protective dust bag made from organically grown cotton, meaning that no pesticides or fertilizers have been used in the production process.
Shampoo Bottles
Our bottles are made from 100% plant based plastic (sugar cane waste material, so it doesn’t cause deforestation), and is certified by the”I’m Green” trademark. Please recycle as PET.
MANUFACTURING
Ethical manufacturing and longstanding relationships with our factories is key to make great sustainable products.
Our leather factory is based in India and is a fore-runner in terms of ethical and sustainable manufacturing. The factory has been audited and awarded the Gold standard by the Leather Working group. This means that they adhere to strict policies regarding minimizing their environmental impact and creating ethically sustainable and safe workplaces.
Our enamelware is produced in Turkey, where craftsmen paint each piece by hand according to traditional techniques. The factory has a long heritage and is committed to the highest standards in terms of safety and quality.
